Garden Grove, CA – January 5, 2005 – Kano Technologies expands their line of professional storage with the SureVAULT PRO, a 4U rackmountable unit with up to 4.8TB of RAID-50 protected high performance storage.  With a single FireWire 800 connection, the SureVAULT PRO is easy to setup and use; simply plug it in and it is automatically recognized by a Mac OS X or Windows XP system without any additional drivers or software.

SureVAULT PRO’s RAID-50 technology utilizes RAID-0 to stripe data to a series of protected RAID-5 arrays that results in high performance transfer rates and data redundancy which is ideal for large disk-based backup and online digital video archiving.  SureVAULT PRO can withstand up to four simultaneous drive failures while sustaining full read/write access to stored data.  Drive replacement can be performed with hot-swappable drives when alerted with an audible and visual alarm signaling drive failure.
The SureVAULT PRO’s custom-designed industrial enclosure minimizes vibrations and dust infiltration.  The chassis features redundant/load-sharing, hot-swappable power supply units with alarm in case of failure. 
SureVAULT PRO systems are available in multiple storage capacities that range from 1.44TB to 4.8TB.  The SureVAULT PRO has a starting list price of $5,799.00 and a cost per gigabyte of just over $2.00.
