The X-SPAND IP allows businesses to simplify their data storage strategies by centralizing storage management and replacing aging direct-attached server storage. With its fully integrated, feature-rich iSCSI hardware, the X-SPAND IP provides SMBs with a complete SAN (storage area network) solution, deployable within a single rackmount appliance. The X-SPAND IP is offered in a low-profile 3U rackmount form factor. Base models start with four SATA II hard disks installed at 1.2 TB and are expandable to 16 drives for more than 12 TB of storage. With four or eight 1 Gb Ethernet ports and the optional 10 Gb Ethernet connection, businesses can configure network connectivity to maximize data availability and throughput performance. The X-SPAND IP features enterprise-level protection and management with redundant power supplies, fans, battery-protected cache and failure notification. The RAID-protected storage is expandable “on the fly,” giving businesses the flexibility to add storage incrementally as their needs grow.
