GARDEN GROVE, CA – JUNE 18, 2007 – Kano Technologies Corporation, a market leader in high-performance, direct-storage and network-attached storage (NAS) products, now offers easy-to-use, enterprise-class network storage for small to mid-size businesses (SMBs). Kano’s NetCOR NAS Enterprise Series is an innovative family of rack-mount appliances that use world-class Dual-Core Intel processor technology and an industry-leading 3ware 9650SE RAID controller to achieve enterprise-level performance, reliability and security.
NetCOR NAS appliances allow users to add up to 12 terabytes of protected data storage as their business needs grow. Then, if storage needs outgrow the NetCOR NAS unit, additional terabytes of expansion storage can be attached through Kano’s exclusive iSCSI integration technology.
NetCOR NAS installation takes just a few minutes, and features like on-board LED environmental indicators, redundant power supplies and field-replaceable cooling fans make it easy to maintain. In addition, Kano’s intuitive StorNAS browser-based GUI software makes NetCOR NAS very easy to use and manage. Some of its features include the following.
StorNas software ensures data security and reliability. It offers password protection, and supports data access controls at the user and volume level. Snapshot and backup tools provide added data security and comprehensive data recovery opportunities. With the exclusive iSCSI integration technology, multiple terabytes of NetCOR IP-SAN storage can be connected for additional backup capacity and redundancy.
StorNas software is powerful and easy to use. Its configuration wizards allow fast set up, but also include an “expert mode” for advanced control and flexibility. Its environmental monitoring, logging and email event notification help administrators keep track of system performance and potential issues. User and group quotas can be set to manage disk-capacity allocation.
StorNas software is compatible with all major operating systems including Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and AIX. NetCOR NAS serves data to both CIFS and NFS clients. CIFS implementation provides seamless integration with Windows Active Directory Services. In addition, the StorNas integrated snap-shot tool is compatible with shadow copies of shared folders for Windows clients.
“With the new NetCOR NAS, Kano has introduced the most complete suite of NAS tools for the SMB market,” said Robert Young, Kano’s national sales manager. “From top to bottom, the NetCOR family offers enterprise-level features in a package that is easy to install and use.”
The NetCOR NAS Enterprise Series is offered in 1U, 2U, and 3U low-profile rack mount models. Base models start with four SATA II hard disks installed at 1TB. They are scalable to 16 drives in the 3U model for more than 12TB of storage. NetCOR NAS is available now in North America through qualified Kano Technologies’ reseller partners, with prices starting at MSRP $2999.00.
